A great skin care tip is to avoid taking really hot baths. When the water is too hot, it damages the lipid layer of the skin, which results in a loss of moisture. It’s better to stick with warm baths and to only be in the water for a short period of time.

Be as delicate with your skin as possible. Avoid taking multiple baths or showers a day and when you do shower use soaps you aren’t sensitive too. Also, when you shave be careful not to press deep, treat your skin how you want it to look.

Remember to use a moisturizer each day. Moisturizers lock moisture into the skin, which is very beneficial, especially during the cold winter seasons, in which skin can be damaged by the dry air and cold temperatures. Common lotions that you can find in local drug stores act as great moisturizers.

Oatmeal can be used as an inexpensive exfoliate for your face and body. Make an oatmeal mask by simply combining ¾ cup oatmeal and ½ cup water and cooking it for a few minutes. After it cools, apply to your face and allow to sit for 10 to 20 minutes. To use the oatmeal with your entire body, simply place a few scoops into your bath water and let it soak before climbing in.

The sun can be a damaging force to skin. It produces ultraviolet rays that can cause damage to the skin. Wear a sunscreen lotion with an SPF of at least 15 and has the ability to block UVA and UVB rays. Apply to the skin before entering the sun (at least 20 minutes in advance).

To keep skin looking younger, try using cabbage juice to tighten skin and prevent wrinkles. Take a half-cup of cabbage and grind it to extract the juice. Apply the juice to your face and let it dry completely before rinsing it off with warm water. Using the cabbage juice, as part of your skin care routine, helps tone and tighten skin while helping to prevent those wrinkles.

Skin care routines for clear, healthy looking skin should always include drinking plenty of water. Drinking water helps flush toxins from your system, carries nutrients to thirsty skin cells and helps your skin to stay well hydrated. While drinking lots of water improves your overall good health, you can actually see the difference in the look and feel of your skin.
